Simon Bush is Professor and Chair of the Environmental Policy Group at Wageningen University. His main area of research focused on the design and effectiveness of public and private environmental governance arrangements for global fisheries and aquaculture. He made publications on the role of eco-certification, fishery credit systems and entrepreneurial marine protected areas. Bush is currently the principal investigator of two projects on tuna fisheries sustainability in the Western and Central Pacific and Indonesia, and one project on area-based management and certification in Thailand, Vietnam and Bangladesh.
He is also associate Editor of Maritime Studies and serves on the technical advisory board of Monterrey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch programme, the Good Fish Foundation and the aquaculture programme of the Sustainable Trade Initiative.
